The Amazings serves up classic and curious skills to learn and things to do that you wouldn’t find anywhere else. We take the life experience of passionate retired and retiring people and turn it into unique experiences. We help you try something old.

Why

Nothing quite prepares you for life as having lived it. There’s a whole lot of wisdom out there, and we believe that once you retire all that shouldn’t go to waste. So we want to help amazing skills and knowhow get passed on; get that make do and mend spirit back. We’re on a mission to make the world more amazing.

How

Our business is pretty simple - we enable any retired person with an amazing skill (and that doesn’t need to be underwater ukelele playing, it could be dancing, knitting, laying the perfect brick wall, astronomy - any kind of talent or knowledge) to turn it into an event. We split the proceeds 70/30 in exchange for providing the marketplace and the advertising. We think everyone has a bit of amazingness in them, and want to help them share it.

Our Values

Be human. The Amazings will never be a soulless corporate. So we should never think like one. We’re people, and that’s how we act.
Keep it fun. We stay awake over the detail, and know that people expect a great experience on every level. We’re a business, but never a chore.
Good money. We believe in commerce, and we believe in doing good. The Amazings is here to do both.
No hidden fees or charges. Whoever buys a one way train ticket anyway? We keep things clear and simple, so you know what you’re getting.
We’re handmade. We might have some frayed edges, but we’re a product of dedication. We’re not perfectionists, we love making things happen.
Comfort zones are uncomfortable. We’ll always keep pushing our product into new areas, trying new ideas and making it as good as we can. We love having customers who are up for challenging themselves too.
