I am a philosopher, historian, teacher, poet and performer. I studied philosophy at Manchester University and went on to teach philosophy, history and communications studies. All of my teaching has been in adult education. After my own struggle against conventional schooling and failed attempts to 'fit in', I deliberately avoided working in the school system!

I have a passion for history. I've read it, I've taught it and historical fiction is a great interest of mine. Most philosophy courses are actually teaching the history of philosophy. I like to help people get a feel for the context of philosophy and discover the relevance it has to their own lives.

My great love is words. I love to write and enjoy sharing it with others, taking part in poetry readings and open mic events. You can find my performances on YouTube.
