I'm an illustrator and author of children's books.

As I child I drew in books. I still do. And in books like The Big Book for Little Hands, I invite other kids to draw inside stories.

French, UK, US and Australian publishers, from Bayard to Simon & Schuster and the Tate, have published over 20 of my kids books, and now I've moved back to London, I'm planning more.

I spent 3 decades in France where I also taught regularly at the Paris (formerly Parsons) School of Design. Teaching the building bricks of design, tone, colour and composition as well as narrative illustration, really helped my own work.

I love working with others creatively. Whether it be publishing teams or young children, students or adults looking for inspiration and new structures. But there's much more to share, not least my enthusiasm for other people's books and projects. In short, playing with a shared purpose is my favourite kind of work.
